When Charlotte Flair won the Royal Rumble, everyone was curious to see what the Queen would do next.

The 34-year-old is a 10-time world champion in WWE and it seemed like she would have to pick to face one of her Four Horsewomen stablemates at WrestleMania 36.

But then Rhea Ripley stepped up and demanded that Flair challenge her for her NXT title.

The Aussie sensation, 23, has taken WWE by storm over the past six months and held a victory over Flair from a triple-threat match back in November.

However, on this occasion, Flair would pick up the win and start her second reign as NXT Women’s champion.

The match was a hard-hitting affair that saw Flair school Ripley in the opening exchanges.

Ripely began to fire back with the babyface intensity she’s become known for and started to lock Flair up.

The Queen, smartly, began targeting Ripley’s knee that was weakened in one of her attacks a few weeks back.

Ripley was shouting in agony – like, really shouting – in the empty Performance Center and Flair was relentless with her pressure.

Eventually, the daughter of the legendary Ric Flair locked in the Figure Eight and forced Ripley to tap-out.

Fans on Twitter were shocked that Flair went over Ripley, especially when the angle suggested that The Queen, someone who has had plenty of title reigns, would make Ripley into a star.

Ripley still grew in the loss and will undoubtedly be a star, but this development has opened up several possibilities.

Charlotte Presumably, Flair will compete in NXT for the forseeable future and the idea of her facing Bianca Belair, Io Shirai and a host of other talents is tantalising to say the least.

But, it also suggests that Ripley may well get the chance to get a rematch with Flair in the future when her knee is 100 percent. That would go a long way to making Ripley the star WWE knows she is rather than a one-off victory.
