It’s been over three years since PlayStation launched its last console, and unsurprisingly, fans are eager to see what’s in store next.
While PlayStation is remaining tight-lipped about the next console, rumours are already flying left, right and centre about the device.
The latest rumour, from Segment Next , indicates that the next console, widely referred to as the PlayStation 5 , will have an exclusive game to rival Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros.
The game, called PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale 2, will be a follow up to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which launched back in 2012, according to Segment Next.
It’s rumoured to be developed by Capcom, and could feature a number of popular characters including God of War’s Zeus, Jak and Daxter, and Parappa.
This is similar to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros game, which also features a number of popular characters.
Segment Next wrote: “The rumour first emerged when a presumed Capcom USA employee uploaded some confidential information on the internet. And the internet did it what it does best. Consequently, the supposed leak took over 4Chan and other discussion boards.
“According to the rumour, Sony would be developing the title so as to publish it for the launch in 2020 for PlayStation 5.
“They will put in lots of money to finance this project because they think it will boost PlayStation 5’s appeal on launch. It will then be launched in 2021 on PC.”
As always, Sony is yet to comment on the rumour.
Other recent rumours suggest that the PlayStation 5 could be unveiled as early as February 2020 – watch this space!
