Everyone is rightly doing everything they can to protect themselves and others against the spread of coronavirus.

It’s vital to follow guidelines including staying inside and washing your hands regularly to help flatten the curve of confirmed cases of the virus in the UK.

Some are adding their own protective measures to the list – with some proving to be a little more unconventional than others.

One mum who wanted to clean her food shop before it went into the cupboards and fridge of her home decided the best way to get it done was to give it all a bit of a bubble bath – a technique we don’t recommend you replicate.

An image uploaded to Twitter shows Greek yoghurts, tomatoes, tzatziki, feta cheese, broccoli, Pink Lady apples and a cauliflower all being given a long hot soak.

A tub of Haagen-Dazs is left to sit on the side to ‘supervise’ the whole process.

It was shared by Evie Lancaster, who wrote: “What precautions are you all taking during the global pandemic? My mum is bathing her Tesco delivery.”

The post has racked up more than 45,000 likes and 11,000 retweets, as others were left in stitches at the bizarre photo.
