Liverpool launch £10m bid for Norwich full-back Jamal Lewis as Reds search for Andy Robertson cover

Liverpool have made a £10m bid for Norwich left-back Jamal Lewis as they seek cover for left-back Andy Robertson.

Lewis impressed for the Canaries this season despite their relegation to the Championship.

The 22-year-old Northern Irishman made 29 top-flight appearances during the 2019/20 season and scored one goal.

It is understood Norwich will reject the bid as they value the defender at significantly more than £10m.

Liverpool are desperately in need of cover at left-back, with 34-year-old James Milner their only alternative to Robertson in that position.

Milner, a midfielder by trade, has sufficed but Jurgen Klopp will know that a more permanent solution is needed.

Yasser Larouci, the 19-year-old Liverpool academy product, could be used as makeweight in a deal for Lewis.

Norwich are thought to be one of several clubs interested in Larouci, who has one year remaining on his Anfield contract.

It is understood Larouci is frustrated with his lack of game time at Liverpool, having just made two senior appearances, both of which came in the FA Cup.
