Kim Jong-un’s jaw-dropping diet has reportedly seen him gorge on expensive steaks, cheese and lots of wine.
The North Korea leader, who has not been seen since he presided over a meeting on April 11, is said to have an ‘extraordinary’ appetite.
Pictures show that Kim, who is 5ft 6ins, has ballooned in size since he first appeared on the global stage in 2010 with his father Kim Jong-il.
He is said to weigh 20 stone and have a BMI of 44.9, classifying him as morbidly obese.
And it is claimed the 36-year-old’s love of food could be one of the reasons why he went under the knife on April 12 for rumoured heart surgery.
There are now conflicting reports over his health and whereabouts.
Rumours have been swirling that he may be dead.
Nothing about his current condition has been confirmed, but a South Korean official today claimed he is “alive and well”.
While officials are staying silent, evidence shows that excessive eating significantly increases chances of heart failure.
John Hopkins Medicine in America found that anyone who is severely obese is four times more likely to have heart failure.
And evidence shows Kim most definitely enjoys the finer foods in life.
Former chef Kenji Fujimoto said he watched Kim’s eating habits develop.
Back in 2015, it was reported, according to Fujimoto, that the leader drinks two bottles of £175 Cristal champagne and gorges himself on expensive Kobe steak and Emmental cheese.
Kim’s diet habits have been criticised, especially when much of North Korea’s population is actually undernourished.
The leader, who has a team of personal chefs, is also said to enjoy a host of other high calorie and luxurious foods such as foie grass and Wagyu beef that can cost up to £240.
Kim is also a fan of the delicacy shark fin soup, according to Mr Fujimoto
Meanwhile, the world will have to continue waiting to find out the truth about Kim.
A vice director of HKSTV Hong Kong Satellite Television said the North Korean leader was dead and cited a “very solid source,” according to the New York Post.
The claim appeared in a post on Chinese messaging app Weibo before being shared widely.
Meanwhile a Japanese magazine is reporting he is in a vegetative state after undergoing heart surgery earlier this month. Other reports said the operation went wrong.
News site Monthly Chosun reported a source saying the North Korean leader was in a coma.
